Step 1 - Log in to the DigiKey developer portal

You must first log in to the DigiKey API developer portal.

Step 2 - Create an Organization

To make production calls to the DigiKey APIs, you must create an Organization:

Click Organizations in the navigation bar or navigate to: https://developer.digikey.com/organizations.

Step 3 - Name your Organization (you can use your company name here):

Click Add organization.

Go to Production Apps

After your have created your organization, click on it, and you should see this:

  • Select Production Apps.

Step 4 - Create a Production Application

Click the Create Production App button.

Step 5 - Fill in the Application Form

Fill in the form using the information specific to your application.
Then click the Add production app button at the bottom of the page.

After submission, the Production application is created.

Step 6 - View and retrieve credentials

Once you have created the production app, you can click on the app and retrieve your credentials here:

Step 7 - Enter credentials in Luminovo

Now you go back into your Luminovo account, navigate to your supplier API integration settings and open up the DigiKey v4 integration:

Click on 'Connect Account':

Enter your credentials and click on 'Save':

Now you should have successfully integrated your DigiKey v4 API with Luminovo.

If you expect to receive contract price offers from DigiKey, from the DigiKey developer portal, click on "My account" in the top bar. It will show one or more Account ID(s):

Pick the correct Account ID from the list and plug it into the Account ID field in the Luminovo supplier API settings for DigiKey v4:

Please, leave the Account ID blank if you are not expecting contract price offers, as using an Account ID will make more requests to DigiKey and drain your API usage quota more quickly.

DigiKey gives 1000 requests/day as default rate limit, which is pretty low. We recommend you to increase your API limits, as documented below:

API rate limit upgrade

If you exceed the API rate, please send an e-mail to the contact person listed below:
